ADAM NIEWOOD
Adam Niewood grew
up in a musical household playing multiple instruments before he
found the saxophone. He began playing jazz in High School, and since
then, Adam has studied at Berklee School of Music, William Patterson
where he received a B.F.A., Manhattan School of Music where he received
an M.F.A., and Julliard where he received an Artists Diploma. He
has worked with a host of fine musicians such as Bill Goodwin, Bill
Charlap, Jim Mcneely, Rufus Reid, Vic Juris, and Jack DeJohnette
among others. Funk Xpress features Adam Niewood on the Tenor and
Soprano Saxophones playing in backup and lead roles where his improvisations
are set as a feature of the band.
